3. Your Design Sandwich Pro is now preheating. After approx. five minutes the green indicator
light will be illuminated. The appliance is now ready for use. It is important that the heating
plates are preheated and greased before the first use. After finishing the first sandwich no
more greasing is necessary. Wipe the heating plates with a paper towel greased with oil.
4. Open the lid and place the prepared sandwiches (toast – filling – toast) on the lower hea-
ting plates. Close the lid carefully, briefly press together and lock the handles. Do not use any
metallic objects for placing and removing the sandwiches. The green indicator light will turn
on and off during the toasting process, the temperature is being controlled automatically.
Note: Pay attention while placing the sandwiches onto the heating plates. The sandwiches
should be in the middle of each toast form for easy closing and locking of the appliance.
WARNING! While placing the sandwiches on the preheated heating plates oil or grease
might spurt out. Keep enough distance to the appliance during operation and do not touch the
hot exterior or heating plates of the sandwich maker. For opening the lid use the handle only.
Open the lid entirely and carefully, to prevent the lid from falling.
WARNING! The housing of the appliance is very hot! Pay attention not to touch the housing.
5. In case the filling of your sandwiches starts to ooze out, remove the remains with a plastic
or wooden scraper or a damp cloth. Use less filling for the following sandwiches.
6. The toasting time is in general 2 – 3 minutes, depending on the nature of the sandwich, the
quantity as well as your preferences. Check the consistency by lifting the lid shortly. Remove
the sandwiches when the desired consistency is reached.
ATTENTION! To prevent damage to the non-stick coating, do not use any metal, sharp or
pointed objects to remove the food. Use a heat-proof plastic or wooden spatula. Never cut
or scratch on the heating plates with sharp-edged cutlery. This would damage the non-stick
coating.
7. After removing the sandwiches clean the sandwich maker with a damp cloth to eliminate the
remainders. Next sandwiches can be placed now on the heating plates.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
1. Before use always preheat the appliance.
2. For soft or liquid sandwich fillings use medium sliced bread. Light or wheat bread may be
used for the sandwiches.
3. For added flavour use bacon dripping. Brush the dripping on the outside of the bread.
4. Flavoured butters may also be used.
5. Suggested fillings for savoury sandwiches: lettuce, parsley, mint, cress, stuffed olive halves,
onions, tomatoes etc.
6. A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outside makers toasted sandwiches crispier (especially
with fruit fillings).
